Worship Orchestra
Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m., Orchestra Room (H-122)
The JVBC Orchestra is an eclectic mix of people using their
talents for God. From a retired
school teacher having not played in 30 years to an engineer playing two
instruments and even college and high school students, the Orchestra is made up
of people that simply wish to use their instrumental talent to Praise God. Our roles include accompanying the
Choir on anthems as well as Congregational singing. We play along with the band for Specials and a monthly
“stand-alone” in which we open or close the service. Our instrumentation is mixed using traditional Orchestra and
Band instruments. Though the lead
parts are more challenging than other parts, if you have a few years of high
school playing experience then we have a place for you. Even if that experience was many years ago, God can still
use your talents. Please contact
Michael Owen, Orchestra Director, at mkmowen@sbcglobal.net if you have any questions. You are also welcome to drop by a rehearsal and check us out!
