As more and more families began moving to Jersey Village, a need for a community church began to develop. Mr. Gabriel Fransee, a Jersey Village resident, had a vision. Gabriel visited with several families and suggested to them that they have a sunrise Easter service on the shore of the Jersey Village Lake.

On April 28, 1955, a group of families in Jersey Village met in the home of Frank and Juanice Hardilek to set plans into motion to fulfill the vision for a church in Jersey Village.

In 1955, Clark and Bessie Henry donated some land on their dairy and cattle ranch for the new church.

The name of The Jersey Village Baptist Church was agreed upon, and the date of May 22, 1955 was set with the Union Baptist Association for official organization.

Throughout the past five decades, we have witnessed God move in mighty ways among His people at JVBC. We have gone from a one building church to a campus of multiple buildings that assist us in fulfilling the Great Commission. In December of 2008, our present worship center, His House, was dedicated; it has given us the opportunity to reach more people with the good news of Jesus Christ.  As we enter into the 21st century, we look with great anticipation to what our Lord will do in the midst of His people at JVBC.
