To walk with people through the trials of life, offering compassion, encouragement and support with Christian values, is the goal and purpose of the Counseling Ministry at JVBC.

Designed to provide affordable professional counseling in conjunction with pastoral care, the Counseling Ministry offers both spiritual and professional guidance for those in need. People from all denominations are welcome as the ministry is available to the community and members of JVBC.

While the purpose of the ministry is to provide professional counseling with Christian values, the amount of biblical influence in counseling is determined by the client.

Counseling services include Individual counseling for Children, Adolescents and Adults, Marriage/Couples Counseling and Family Therapy.  Clients can find support through Grief, Depression, Anxiety, Relationship Difficulties, Stress, Anger, Parenting, Blending Families, Recovery from Divorce, Addictions, Abuse and Trauma. 

Dasha Taylor has been providing counseling services for the membership of JVBC since 2002. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.  She is licensed as a Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist by the state of Texas.

New clients, or those wanting more information, can view the Informed Consent Form located below.  You may print the Informed Consent and Client Information forms, fill them out and bring them with you to your first appointment.  Pastoral Counseling is available from any member of the pastoral staff and can be arranged by calling the church office at 713.466.6102.
