The vision of our Mission Service Team is to unify all our missions and to make the whole church aware of opportunities to serve, while focusing on those missions that share and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Several class leaders have responded with the missions their class supports. How does your class support missions? Contact Service Team Leader Daisy Bello at to help spread the word.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth - Acts 1:8

CFBC is committed to telling the unreached people groups of the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. From 2015-2020 we have adopted the Wayuu people group in the northern coastal region of Colombia. Our five year plan includes a church wide mission trip a year that involve meeting basic needs, outreach and discipleship training.

Our next Colombia Mission trip is scheduled for July 22-29, 2017.  You may register for this trip here. Any additional payments for participants may be made here. For more information:

Watch the video from the 2016 Mission Trip to Colombia:

Our mission group was composed of 22 people from Houston, 2 from Bogota and 28 from Barranquilla and Riohacha. God used everybody with their unique spiritual gifts, their natural talents and their kind hearts. We all served with the love that characterizes us as workers in the fields ripe unto the harvest. We left behind our testimony of love in the hearts and minds of the Wayuu people. In days of work;

  • The Medical Team attended to 430 patients.
  • 120 children attended the VBS.
  • 25 children made professions of faith and 10 were baptized.
  • Overall 110 people accepted Christ as their personal Savior.
  • A large number of people received various expressions of care through the Service Team.
  • The Construction Team laid a solid foundation for a church building. The first service was held on September 4, 2016

We all give praise to God for what He did through the Mission Team.

During this trip we also participated in the forging of an agreement between the Wayuu Baptist Association (REDESKA) and the Baptist Denomination of Colombia. The two sides signed agreements, and the Wayuu Baptist Churches are now protected by the Baptist denomination both nationally and internationally. The Wayuu Baptist Churches will now get help in areas such as the stewardship of resources, Sunday School, spiritual growth seminars for pastors and protection of the Wayuu children so they are not removed from their ethnicity.

One More:

Focus On: Seed Company

When you give, we give. If you give more, we can give more. If we all gave 1% MORE, we would see ONE MORE person saved, ONE MORE village with water, ONE MORE child adopted, or ONE MORE girl saved from slavery.

JVBC is committed to giving away a percentage of what is given to us through tithes and offerings for the sake of missions in Houston and all over the world. Every month we emphasize one of these ministries by giving to help fund a project or mission. Some of our mission partners are:
