The Jersey Village Baptist Women's Ministry is hosting its annual summer outreach for women, The Ladies Black & White Luncheon (with a splash of color), on Saturday, July 13, at 10:45 am.
Colossal Coaster World…Facing Fear, Trusting God,
(2 Timothy 1:7)
Worship is so much more than music. It is a way of life. At JVBC, it is our desire to cultivate worshipers who adore God in spirit and in truth. We pray that in every congregational gathering you are encouraged and empowered in the Spirit, and challenged by the truth of God’s word.

Watercolor artist, national speaker and writer Debbie Hannah Skinner will combine biblical teaching with colorful, original paintings that come to life on stage. Through words and images, Debbie encourages women to express creativity in new ways, even those who don't consider themselves to be artists; savor Scripture to soothe a busy mind; apply biblical truth to strengthen their personal and professional lives; and rekindle little-girl creativity with big-girl purpose.
The luncheon is catered by Bello Cibo, and tickets are available online at jvbc.org for $12. Childcare is available by registration. This year's ministry outreach partner is the Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM). Attendees who would like may bring snack-size crackers and cookies to replenish the shelves at NAM for children at home this summer.

Affective Biblical Counseling
What is Affective Biblical Counseling? Affective Biblical Counseling is a ministry of Jersey Village Baptist Church designed and offered, affordably, to both members and attenders of JVBC as well as to other members of the community. In the society we find ourselves, with family breakdowns and personal problems in epidemic proportions and biblical values being undermined and under attack, many are in need of counsel, discipleship and mentoring in specialized ways. With this realization and for this reason, Affective Biblical Counseling exists to both courageously and compassionately "speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15) and assist you in tangibly, practically and biblically rising and remaining above whatever "issues" you may be wrestling with. No matter what the individual, married couple or family need, the counselors of Affective Biblical Counseling at JVBC stand ready to provide biblical and specialized instruction in helping you recognize, apply and implement the love, grace, mercy and remedies God offers through His Word. You'll be shown and assisted in applying biblical truth to virtually any and every inorganic (non-physical) "issue" with which you find yourself, marriage and/or family confronted. This counseling is available for both adolescents (14 - 18 years old, with permission of and accompanied by parent(s)/guardian), single or married adults. Younger children's needs will be discussed and addressed separately.
Who are the counselors?
Steve and Judy Cranston are a couple with significant experience and a calling to counseling ministry. They have received formal training in biblical counseling from The National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC), a national organization committed to the quality of biblical counseling offered by its members. They are also certified by both NANC and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as biblical counselors. They continue to avail themselves of ongoing training in the realm of biblical counseling. Steve holds a license and has been ordained as a minister, having served as a pastor in several churches in both NY state and TX. He has a BA in Biblical Studies from Luther Rice Seminary and an MA in Biblical Studies from Baptist Bible College (PA). Judy is retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as National Account Manager, Short Line Marketing. Steve and Judy have five children, four of whom are married. They have seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
How do I make an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please call for an appointment at 281.955.1872 or email either Steve (scranston@jvbc.org) or Judy (jcranston@jvbc.org). Pastoral Counseling is also available from any member of the pastoral staff and can be arranged by calling the church office at 713.466.6102.
